Gary Lee Patterson

Gary Lee Patterson, 71, of Greenwood, passed away June 5, 2020 at Harrison Terrace, Indianapolis.  The son of Paul E. and Norma L. (Ritter) Patterson, he was born March 21, 1949 in Indianapolis.

Gary was a bus driver with Metro / IndyGo for over 30 years.  He was active in several bowling leagues – bowling at Expo Bowl and Shelby Bowl.  He enjoyed going out and playing a round of golf, or taking his rod and reel to spend some quiet time fishing.  As a Hoosier, he followed the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana University Basketball, Notre Dame Football and the Indiana Pacers.  And not to leave any sport out, he followed Indy Car racing and Nascar (Jeff Gordon being a favorite).  Gary also took the time to be a foster parent!

Gary is survived by his children, Stacy Michelle DaVinci of Glendale, AZ, Penny L. (Steve) Leverett of Greenwood, Brandon Cordell Patterson of Indianapolis, Cory Patterson of Indianapolis, Bryan Patterson of Terre Haute, Jason Tuggle of Speedway and Kimberly Tuggle of Savannah, GA; brothers, Dennis (Sherri) Patterson of Martinsvillle, Paul (Nancy) Patterson of Greenwood and James Justice of Chicago, IL; sister, Cheryl White of Bargersville; grandchildren, Myles, Bryan and Blake DaVinci, Kaylynn and Kaleb Leverett, Tyler Tuggle-Reum and Phoenix Jones; great-grandchildren, Parker, Cooper and Gavin DaVinci and Kai Draven Snyder; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters, Faye Durham and Linda Jo Gunn .

There will be a memorial service conducted 4:00 p.m. June 13, 2020 at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services – 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, where family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to the time of the memorial service.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing will be observed.
