Geoffrey Wadleigh Obituary

In Loving Memory of Geoffrey Christopher Wadleigh September 19, 1961 – June 13, 2026

It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Geoffrey Christopher Wadleigh, who passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 64. While we mourn his loss, we also honor a life filled with purpose, kindness, and an enduring passion for the people and pursuits that brought him joy.

To know Geoff was to know someone whose heart came alive through woodworking, model airplane flying, drumming, painting, and spending time with his wife, children, nieces, and nephews. Whether he was whittling a piece of wood, creating a new painting, or making jokes with family and friends, Geoff approached every moment with enthusiasm, curiosity, and generosity. His passions were more than hobbies—they were ways of connecting with others and making the world a little brighter.

Beyond these pursuits, Geoff was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and friend who believed in lifelong learning, honesty, and treating others with kindness. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, heard, and valued, leaving lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Among Geoff's proudest accomplishments was witnessing his sons overcome difficult, life-changing challenges. Yet those who loved him know that his greatest legacy is found in the countless lives he touched through his encouragement, laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Geoff is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy (VanBlaricum) Wadleigh; his sons, Geoffrey Wadleigh II and Paul Wadleigh; and his nephews, whom he loved as though they were his own sons: Jacob Hayden, Day Landseadel, and Ronan Suarez. He is also survived by his siblings, John Wadleigh, Jean Wadleigh, David Wadleigh, and Mimi (Wadleigh) Pruett. His family and friends will continue to carry forward the lessons, traditions, and love he shared throughout his life.

Geoff was preceded in death by his father, Harold Hubert Wadleigh; his mother, Marian Alma (Miller) Wadleigh; and his brother, Harold Hubert Wadleigh Jr.

To honor Geoff, we invite family and friends to remember him not only in moments of sorrow but by embracing the passions he cherished. Plant a flower, play a favorite song, take a walk in nature, share a home-cooked meal, lend a helping hand, or simply spend time with those you love. These simple acts reflect the life he lived and the values he held dear.

A memorial service will be held on September 18 at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46225. Geoff's Celebration of Life will be held on September 19 at 1:00 p.m. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to an Indiana alcohol or narcotics recovery program, causes that reflect Geoff's compassion and desire to help others.

Though Geoff is no longer with us in person, his passion, love, and spirit remain woven into the lives he touched. His story continues through every act of kindness he inspired and every heart he helped shape.

"The measure of a life is not only in the years lived, but in the joy shared, the passions pursued, and the love left behind."
