Jackie Faye Butler

Jackie Faye Butler, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2026. He was born on April 1, 1950, in Kettle, Kentucky, to the late William Fred Butler and Maude Marie (Scott) Farmer, and went on to be lovingly raised by his granny.

Jackie spent many years as an independent courier, proudly running his business, American Expediting. Even after selling the company, he continued to help transport for the new owner, proof of his strong work ethic and loyalty.

A true outdoorsman, Jackie found joy in hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, and, of course, eating. He loved boating and sitting on the front porch, and he had a knack for fixing just about anything. Jackie could be stubborn and hard-headed, but he was equally loyal, honest to a fault, and blessed with a great sense of humor.

Though he never cared much for having the nicest home or car, Jackie always made family vacations a priority. He loved his family deeply and lived by the belief that it is better to give than to receive, a lesson he shared often and embodied every day.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Butler; his children, Brian F. Butler, Justin (Jaymie) Butler, and Lindsay Faye Butler; his sister, Brenda (Jerry) Anderson; and his grandchildren, Jackson Butler, Jacob Butler, Kaden Neldon, and Jaylee Butler. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Journee Girl, and his grand-dog, Miles.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A service celebrating his life will begin at 1 p.m., with cremation to follow, honoring his wishes.
