Jacquelyn Kathryn (Hite) Young

Jacquelyn Kathryn (Hite) Young, age 90, of Ormond Beach, Fla, passed away on February 12, 2023 after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  Jackie was born on April 26, 1932 to Alice and Harry Hite in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was one of 6 children, with one surviving brother, Jerry Hite (Joyce) of Port Charlotte, Fla.

In 1950, Jackie met the one and only love of her life, Jack Milton Young, who proposed to his bride at her Senior prom. Their 62 years of marriage blessed them with 6 children. Survived by daughter, Cindy, (Robert Marston) of Fairfield, CT, Don Young, (Susan) of Bonita Springs, Fla, Gregg Young, (Sharon), of Pleasanton, CA., Kim, (Gary Lauck) of Indianapolis, IN, Stacey, (Scott Harris) of Milford, MI and Doug Young, (Susan) of White Lake, MI. Jackie was very proud of her 19 grandkids and an astounding 20 great grandkids!

Along with being a stay-at-home mom, Jackie was a very artistic and creative person who loved decorating and floral arranging. She loved to play tennis and golf with her husband Jack at the Oceanside CC in Ormond along with boating and enjoying friends at the Halifax River Yacht Club in Daytona where Jack had been Commodore. Their social life was one of Jackie’s true loves, she never missed a party. Without a doubt all her heavenly friends will greet her with her favorite glass of wine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 30 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 E. Edgewood Ave., Indianapolis, with Fr. Tim Wyciskalla presiding.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass in the Church starting at 10 a.m.
