James M. Stahl, Jr., 82, of Beech Grove, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born on June 28, 1939 in Indianapolis to the late James M. and Annabelle (Alhand) Stahl, Sr. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Ethel (Liosi) Stahl; she preceded him death.
He was a 1957 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and went on to earn an Associates Degree from Butler University in Accounting. Jim worked for his father-in-law, Samuel Liosi, who owned numerous businesses prior to retirement. The last job he held after retirement was working at the St. Paul Hermitage. Above all he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Suzanne Hunter, James M. Stahl, III, Anthony L. (Doanie) Stahl, Samuel J. (Nina Claborn) Stahl; siblings, Dr. Gerald (Paula) Stahl, Thomas (Carol) Stahl, Charles (Linda) Stahl, Kathleen Arkins and Joan Stahl; grandchildren, Nicholas (Sarah Clayton) Carroll, James (Venecia) Carroll, Angela (Dave) Wade, Miranda (Jeremy Wethington) Vaughn, Lacy Stahl and Candace (Tyler Watson) Stahl; great-grandchildren, Eric Michael Johnson, Christopher Johnson, James Carroll, Jacob Carroll, Leah Carroll, Mariah Vaughn, Tony Huett, Riley Stahl, Jaxson Stahl and Nolan Stahl.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., where a rosary service will take place at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Bob Robeson on Thursday, October 28 at 10 a.m. in Holy Name Catholic Church, Beech Grove, with prayers being said at the funeral home prior to mass at 9:15 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
