Jerry Owen Eacret, 78, of Greenwood, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021.Born April 6, 1942 in Indianapolis, Jerry was the son of the late Irma M. (Lanam) and Clyde A. Eacret, Sr.
Jerry graduated from Sacred Heart Central High School in 1960. Jerry was a veteran, who served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965.
Jerry was an electrical contractor from 1972 to 1996, having owned and operated J. E. Electric, Inc. for 15 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church, a life member of Msgr. James M. Downey Knights of Columbus #3660, American Legion Post #64 and Dye’s Walk Country Club. Jerry was proud of his one Hole in One.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Anne M. (Schwamberger) Eacret of Greenwood; children, Debra A. (Thad) Linton and Jerry O. Eacret, II; brothers, Clyde A. (Julie) Eacret, Jr. and Eugene E. (Ginny) Eacret; grandsons, Theodore O. (Shannon) and Hunter R. Linton; and great-grandson, Ayden A. Eacret. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Louann Roll.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Friday at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street.
