Joanne Hooker Obituary

Joanne Ellen Hooker, 82, of Martinsville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Community Hospital East. She was born on November 12, 1938 in Sidell, Illinois to the late Guy and Laura (Summers) Cox. She was the widow of the late Lyle Hooker.

Joanne graduated from both St. Ann High School in Illinois and then Nursing School becoming a L.P.N. She was very social and had many friends, she enjoyed spending time on the internet/computer, reading books and doing puzzles.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Farr, Tammy (Charles) Holt Meyers, Tina Holt, Gary Holt and David Holt; sister, Mary Foster; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Lyle; and sisters, Sally Loop, Alice Trumble, Cleta Hubert and Alberta Strode.

The family will hold a celebration of life later in the year when it is safer to do so.
