Joellen "Jodi" (Koehl) Kemper

Joellen “Jodi” Kemper (Koehl), 53, passed away at her home on August 22, 2024.

She was born April 22, 1971, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to John and Sandra Koehl.

Jodi is the middle child of John & Sandies 9 children. While Jodi did not have children of her own, she treasured and adored her nieces and nephews. For many years she hosted summer time sleepovers for the kids. She named this event Camp Run-A-Muck and she let the kids get away with nearly anything they wanted. She was a member of a Random Acts of Kindness group for many years; giving back to her community and to those in need was a meaningful and important aspect of her life. She held great value in her maintaining relationships with friends & family. Jodi loved the beach and spending time just floating in the water (lake or ocean, she didn’t care). In recent years she purchased a lake house saying is was for her family & friends, and of course herself, to be able to spend time away from “life” and just enjoy spending time together. She was an employee of Pearson Publishing for many years, and I know she is now quietly fixed all my grammatical error and spelling mistakes. 

She is survived by her mother Sandra, and her siblings; Fran Rushing (Carey Rehmel), Mark Koehl, Jean (Jim) Brown, Connie Stong, Katie (Jeff) Lyons, Tami Koehl, James (Nita) Koehl and N~Nick Koehl; along with her 24 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend Jackie (Dale) Thomas and her 3 children 

She was preceded in death by her husband, J Robert Kemper II, and her father, John F Koehl.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 30, 2024, at 6pm at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46225. Friends and family are welcome to gather from 3pm until the time of service.
