John Emery Town

John Emery Town, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away January 22, 2021.  The son of the late Elmer Roy and Mildred Erma (Haynes) Town, John was born June 2, 1939 in Clare County, Michigan.

John was an accomplished square dancer and round dancer.  He was employed as an electrical contractor, an educator, and in nursing, having worked in nursing homes and later with the prison system.

Survivors include his children, Douglas Town, Gerald Town, Melissa Town, Gretchen Abbott and Heather Bola; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Trevia (Johnson) Town; and siblings, Marlin Town, Leora Rhodes and Corrin Town.

Graveside committal services will be conducted 12:00 noon January 23, 2021 at Grant Memorial Park – 1606 West 26th Street  Marion, Indiana with burial to follow services.
