Jose Alfredo Garcia

Jose Alfredo Garcia, 36, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his Indianapolis residence. Born October 19, 1985 in Indianapolis, Jose was the son of Guadalupe Gonzalez and the late Alfredo T. Garcia.

For several years, Jose worked in the food service industry. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Jose enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em Poker. In 2007, he started a weekly poker game for our friends and family. That game has branched out and is still played every week. Jose loved to cook. He prided himself on making creative meals for the family. His specialty was using every dish in the house and not cleaning up. Jose was a professional procrastinator- nothing bothered him, and he was never in a rush.

Jose's absolute joy in life were his nieces and nephews. He loved poking fun of them and making them laugh. Although Jose pushed most people away, he never stopped loving his friends and family. He loved everything Star Trek and watching movies.

Survivors include his mother, Guadalupe Gonzalez of Indianapolis; brothers, Mauricio C. Gonzalez and Isaac L. Garcia, both of Indianapolis; sisters, Monica S. (husband, David) Young of Indianapolis and Kimberly S. (husband, Tom) Amrine of Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 nieces and nephews, Kristin, Mateo, Sarah, Mya, Megan, Benicio, Jack, Bella, Madelyn and Maricela.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis. The recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be said during the visitation at 5:00 p.m. The Latin Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 520 Stevens Street, Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
