Kellie Marie Schallert, 33, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on July 15, 1987 in Maplewood, Minnesota to Deacon Nathan C. and Kathryn N. (Backman) Schallert.
Kellie was a graduate of Roncalli High School, class of 2005. She went on to earn a BA in Music Therapy and a BS in Psychology from the University of Evansville and later a Masters in Music Therapy from Indiana University. She worked in Banking with J.P. Morgan Chase, NA and worked with children on the autism spectrum through music therapy. She loved bunnies, had a heart of gold and loved life to the fullest. Kellie enjoyed being in the sun, loved Hawaii and living in Georgia where she loved the warmer climate. She loved performing music and played the flute, piccolo, guitar, piano, saxophone and percussion instruments. She was a blessing and will be truly missed.
Survivors include her parents, Deacon Nate and Kathy Schallert; brother, Mike Schallert; pet rabbits: Orion and Carrots; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., where the rosary will be said at 5:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, July 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral, 1347 N. Meridian St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 11 a.m. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
