Kevin “Magic" Spurr Obituary

Kevin “Magic” Thomas Spurr, 56, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024,  after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.  He was born on June 3, 1968, in Indianapolis, to the late Noah Thomas Spurr and Sandra (Butler) Bowen.  He married the love of his life, Katrina Lee (Knapp) Spurr, on September 1, 1993.

Kevin was a diesel mechanic by trade but also enjoyed working on motorcycles, woodburning and building clocks.  He loved to tinker in the garage and could fix almost anything.  Kevin was a hard worker and never met a stranger; he had a way of making people feel welcome.  He loved his family, friends and fellow club members of the Stone Drifters Motorcycle Club of which he was a lifetime member.

Kevin loved his wife, children and grandchildren and was a great teacher.  He had a magnetic personality and was always willing to help someone in need.  He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Katrina “Kat” Spurr; children, Kayleigh Follmar, Sarah Spurr, Joey Spurr, Kevin Spurr, Jr., Kyle (Brittany) Spurr and Kelsey Spurr; siblings, Mike Lester, Bruce (Jamie) Paro, Richard (Paula) Byrd and Carrie Byrd; grandchildren, Jonathan, Karson, Ethan, Evan, Melody, Owen, Grayson and Maylee.  Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; second mother, Carol Spurr; son, John Cannon; and siblings, Patrick and Mable Spurr.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, Aug.17,2024/2:00pm in True Word Baptist Church, 2719 S. Tindall St., Indianapolis.  A service celebrating Kevin’s life will follow at 4:00pm in the church with Pastor James “Redbone” Blazek officiating.  After the service, 5pm all are invited for a $20 Benefit Dinner and continued celebration of life at the Stone Drifters Club House.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to help the family with final expenses.
