In Loving Memory of LaDarius Jarell Thomas

January 13, 1996 – June 25, 2024

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, LaDarius Jarell Thomas, loving son, grandson, brother, dad, and friend, became absent from the body and present with the Lord. 

LaDarius was born on January 13, 1996, to Shreeda Dixon. He was blessed to have Brandon Walker enter his life at the age of four and take on the role of "Pops". When I think of LaDarius, I instantly smile. There was not a day that he did not try to bring joy to those he loved and came in contact with.

I knew at a young age that LaDarius was special. He was so smart and intelligent, loving and caring with a smile that would warm your heart. He loved to crack jokes and debate about any and everything you could imagine. Trying to win when talking to him was nearly impossible because he was so skilled with his words that he would have you thinking you were wrong when you were right.

Although LaDarius did not have a church home, he loved the Lord and found peace in praying for those he loved and knew.

Ladarius departs this world leaving us with a beautiful, smart, and funny baby girl named Eden Ja’Elle, who he called “Baby,” for us to continue to love, cherish, and nurture while watching her grow.

LaDarius leaves behind family he loved dearly:

• Sisters: Devynn, Kennahdi, and Mckenzie

• Brothers: Jayden and Randall

• Aunt: Tamiko

• Cousins: Aysjah and Davion

• Niece: Londyn Rae

• Nephew: Chase

• Grandmother: Juanita (Geezy) Dixon

• God-Mother: Chane Lucas (Janae, Shaq, Maya)

• And a host of other family and friends

Preceding in Death: Minnie and James Dixon (Great-Grandparents) Willie Streeter (Grandfather) Aunts: Edna and Ann and Best Friend: Olivia Shana Wilcox

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis.  A service celebrating his life will follow at 1 p.m.   Burial:  Concordia Cemetery, Indianapolis.   

In lieu of flowers, gift cards have been suggested for the daughter of LaDarius, Eden Ja'Elle Cotton.
