Linda Kaye Kern, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Rosegate Village. She was born on October 27, 1961, in Indianapolis, to the late Donald Lee and Virginia Mae (Davenport) Kern.
Linda worked for many years as a waitress for Frisch’s Big Boy. She enjoyed Bingo and going to the Casino. She loved to sing and had a recording made of three songs at a local recording studio, but her greatest love was her grandchildren. She will be missed by her loving family.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert “Red” Eugene Hook; children, Jennifer (Darren) Abercrombie and James Lester Fritch Jr; brothers, Donald Lee (Tamara) Kern, Jr. and Raymond Scott (Danielle) Kern; sisters, Sheila Ann (Woody) McCutcheon and Brenda Faye (Mike) Belcher; grandchildren, Brenden James Fritch, Hayley Renea Abercrombie, Darren Michael Abercrombie, Jr., Devon Michael Abercrombie, Destanie “Nae” Lenea’ Abercrombie and Ethan Ryan Fritch; and great-grandchildren, DJ and Anaya. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Rhonda Ellen Kern and Barbara Michelle Kern.
Services will be private and she will be cremated in keeping with her wishes.
