Lonzie Arlin Garner, 92, of Camby, Indiana, entered eternal life on Friday, April 11, 2025. He was born November 20, 1932, to the late Peyton and Emma (Flowers) Garner. Lonzie married the love of his life, Sally Mae (Humphry) Garner, on March 1, 1952; she survives.
Lonzie retired from General Motors and was a member of the U.A.W. #23. He loved the Lord, his family, listening to gospel music and the banjo; he and his wife Sally were members of Bluff Baptist Church for many years. Lonzie enjoyed gardening, riding his 1951 Harley Davidson and bicycling. Lonzie will be most remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and as a spirited whistler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 73 years, Sally Garner; children, Louis (Angela) Garner, Tracy (Michelle) Garner and Shelia Short; grandchildren, Wayne Garner, Stacy Dixion, Wendy Talcott, Shelly Darts, Joe Garner, Randy Garner, Samantha Radtke, Rhiannon Stavroules, Mark Stavroules and Jennifer McIntyre; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Ada Garner, Freddie Garner and Tikeela Garner; and siblings, Waymon Garner, Hall Garner, Audrey Ferguson, and Lloyd Garner.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, April 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, Kentucky, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. with Brother Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Modoc Cemetery, Burkesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to Riley Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
