Lucille A. Jordan, 96, of Greenwood passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. She was born on March 20, 1923 in Indianapolis to the late Fred and Bertha Johantgen.
Lucille was a graduate of Washington High School and had worked for L.S. Ayres for many years. She loved to play games, she was in a Euchre Club for over 50 years and also enjoyed Pokeno, Bunco and Bingo. When her children were young, she was part of the Alter Society at St. Catherine Catholic Church. She was part of the auxiliary at the American Legion and the VFW Post 1120 where she was a past president. Lucille was also active with her husband at the Msgr. James M. Downey Council 3660, Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include her children, Donna Duncan, Joyce McAllister, Gloria Need (Don) and Mark Jordan (Sherry); 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Jordan in 1980; son, Gary Jordan; and all her siblings.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with prayers being said prior to Mass in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow services in St. Joseph Cemetery.
