Margaret “Ann” Brown, 85, of Indianapolis, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born on November 7, 1938, to the late William V. and Margaret Louise (Kreke) Brown in LaPorte, Indiana.
After graduating from high school, Miss Brown joined the sisters of Saint Joseph in Tipton, Indiana, and was known as Sister Paula Ann. After leaving the convent and returning to secular life, she joined Stokely-VanCamp in accounting and worked for many years until her retirement on December 2, 2003. Ann joined the Franciscan Third Order in May of 1966 and was a member for over 57 years. She was very devoted to Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Franciscan Fraternity and was involved with Catholic Charismatics for over 50 years.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patricia Brown Adkins Lomen; brother, William E. Brown; and nephew, Gary Adkins, Sr. Survivors include her nephew and Godson, Jerry (Nellie) Adkins and nephew, Marty (Cathy) Lomen, Jr.; three great nieces, two great-great-nieces and four great-nephews from Georgia, Florida and Indianapolis.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, August 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the church with Fr. Duc Pham, O.F.M. presiding. Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rebuild My Church, 1530 Union St., Indianapolis, IN 46225. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
