Margaret “Peggy” Claire Beck, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1966, in Indianapolis, to the late Gilbert and Margaret (Traylor) Beck.
Peggy was calm, soft-spoken, and often kept to herself. She loved reading outside, riding her bike, and spending time at cookouts with family and friends. Like a butterfly, she sometimes disappeared for a while before popping back up. She was known to be a loner and had a beautiful smile.
Peggy worked in the hospitality industry for many years, waiting tables and bartending. Her first job was serving at Shapiros’, only living a few blocks away, and most recently working at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Survivors include her daughter, Terra (Matthew) Otte; sister, Judy Line; brother, Denny (Ralph) Lilly; grandchildren, Savanna and Memphis Otte; and niece and nephews, Angela Apple, Gary Apple and David Apple. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Sandra Apple, Butch Beck and Tobin Beck; and her precious cat, Minnie.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, July 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. Burial will follow in Concordia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure (breast cancer) or the Dayspring Center. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
