Marie (Kelley) Shewmaker

Marie Shewmaker, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Community South Hospital.  She was born on January 25, 1939, in Shelby City, Kentucky, to the late Virgil and Sylvia (Searcy) Kelley. 

Marie owned and operated her own hair salon and beauty college, Four Star Beauty College, for over twenty years.  She loved her pets and working in her flowers.  Above all, she loved her family, most especially the grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Michael Shewmaker and Jeremy Shewmaker; brother, Raymond Kelley (Peggy); grandchildren, Melissa Allen, Bobbie Jo Burnett (Rusty) and Tyler Scheer; great-grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Chelsea, Lexi, Bryson and Cooper; and pets, Spike, Molly and Dottie.  She was preceded in death by her late husband of 35 years, Darrol Shewmaker, Sr.; and children, Darrol Shewmaker, Jr. and Kimberly Shewmaker.   

Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Springfield, Kentucky, in the next couple weeks.
