Marjorie Ann (Wehlage) Lenahan

Marjorie (Wehlage) Lenahan, 85 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully with her sister by her side on March 20, 2021. She was born March 14, 1936 to the late Norbert and Inez Wehlage.

Marjorie grew up in the community of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she attended school for 12 years. Before having her family, she worked for Carson Pierce Scott, and worked part time in school cafeterias. Marjorie was a dedicated wife and mother. She made her home comfortable, decorated with many hand made crafts and beautiful decor. Marjorie enjoyed working in her garden tending to her flowers and tomato plants. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Marjorie and Bernard were charter members of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard of over 50 years, her parents, her sister Marilyn J. Gallagher and brother Richard J. Wehlage.

Survivors include her son Christopher, sister, Alice J. (Wehlage) Kilgore and a number of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 South Union Street, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the home Chris lives in.  Tangram 5155 Pennwood Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46205 or thetangramway.org. Donation cards will also be available at church. Also, a container for small festive stickers will be at the church to give to Chris at a later date.

The family would like to specifically thank Cathy for all she has done to help Marjorie and Bernard these last few years. The family would also like to thank Julie and the team at Transitions Hospice as well as Lainey and team at Select Senior Care. Lastly, the family would like to thank Sherri and Adriana for the compassion and care they provided.
