With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Condon.
Mary Ann Kempe Condon (87) passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was born in Indianapolis on November 20, 1934 in St. Francis Hospital to the late Hubert "Boots" and Edith (Goedeker) Kempe. Mary Ann is survived by two siblings, brother, Jerome "Jerry" Kempe and sister, Helene Williams (Frank).
Mary Ann married Robert F. Condon in 1956, who preceded her in death. Her loving children include, Robert J. "Jay" Condon (Jennifer), Nickolas F. Condon (Gloria) and adopted daughter, Paula J. Reiss (Gene). Grandchildren, Shane Condon and his fiancé, Michelle Rausch, Brandon Condon, Chelsea Moorman (Drew), Morgan Condon and fiancé, Morgan Rogers, Kayla Monts (Justin), William "Will" Berry, Joseph "Joe" Shepard, Anthony Reiss (Jess), Aaron Reiss and Adam Reiss (Andrea). Great-grandchildren, Cameron and Allister Moorman, Elliot Reiss, AJ and Lexi Shepard and two great-great-grandchildren, Zander and Aurora. Yoko Condon was her dear sister-in-law; Yoko's children include, Mike, Yukari and Bill. Mary Ann also had many nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Mary Ann graduated from Assumption Grade School and Sacred Heart High School in 1952. She enjoyed a tight-knit friend group from her years at Assumption and Sacred Heart that continued throughout her lifetime.
Her initial career was with Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Teague and Dr. McCartney for 27 years, beginning as their receptionist and ending as the practice manager for their large orthopedic group. In 1989, she graduated from the University of Indianapolis with her Bachelor's Degree in the Science of Nursing. After graduation, she served as an RN at Wishard Hospital (Now Eskenazi) for 25 years.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a rosary service at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 15 at 10 a.m. in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., with prayers being said at the funeral home prior to Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mary Ann was known for her generosity; especially to those in need. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Vincent de Paul or St. Roch Catholic Church; envelopes will be provided.
