Mary Lou Hayes, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert and Catherine (Zappia) Williamson.
Mary Lou graduated from St. Mary High School, class of 1950. She retired from the Keenan-Stahl Boys and Girls Club where she was the secretary for many years. Mary Lou loved to clean and was a huge fan of Bobby Knight and Neil Diamond. She enjoyed her Pepsi and volunteering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Debra Wynn, Linda Riley, Robert Riley and Mike (Delinda) Riley and Shannon (Bill) White; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Paul Hayes; her parents; brother, Robert Williamson; grandchildren, Jackie, Bobby and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Jayla, Christopher and Lil Jeff.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, May 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 16 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., with prayers being said at the funeral home prior to Mass at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Ducanh Pham, O.F.M. will preside at the Mass. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home and church.
