Max Eldridge Obituary

William “Max” Eldridge, 85, of Indianapolis passed away May 3, 2020 in St. Francis Hospital.  The son of Harrison and Viola (Young) Eldridge, Max was born January 7, 1935 in Jonesville, Virginia.

Max retired in 1984, after 30 years as a truck driver with Liquid Transport Corporation. He then work 30 years for Swifty Inc. until his second retirement in 2014. He enjoyed his family as well as hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah L. (Estes) Eldridge of Indianapolis; son Allen Gary Eldridge of San Diego, CA; daughters, Anna Darlene Eldridge of Indianapolis and Jennifer L. (Joseph) Sallee of Camby; brothers, Jimmie (Barbara) Eldridge of Danville, IN and Roland (Tomris) Eldridge of Dover, DE; sisters, Wilma Boyd of Ft. Wayne, IN and Flora (Stanley) Crain of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Dawn West, Matthew West, Angela Newgent, Elmerio Alviz, Ahlexa Eldridge, Joseph Sallee III, Kammi Sallee, Ashlynn Sallee, Bryson Sallee and Faith Sallee; great-grandchildren, Hayley Ward, Kiyana Ward, Kayleb Ward, Dayton Ward and Rio Alviz; great-great-grandson, Josiah Jensen.  In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by daughter, Katherine West and sisters, Ruth Schick and Reba Eldridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Services will be private due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood. Online condolences: LauckFuneralHome.com
