Michael Joseph Schloegl Sr., 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was born on March 8, 1941, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to the late Michael J. and Bertha (Strauman) Schloegl. Michael was the youngest of nine children. He married the love of his life, Diane (Tindall) Schloegl, on March 3, 1962, in St. Joseph, Michigan; she survives.
Mike served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard & Army National Guard for more than eight years following high school. He was a computer programmer and founded his own business - MYIP (Make Your Investments Pay) - helping multiple companies with their computer programming needs. He was an active parishioner of St. Roch Catholic Church for 54 years, where he enjoyed being the head usher for many of those years.
Mike enjoyed carpentry, was a good dancer and worked hard to provide his children with a good Catholic Education which was very important to him. He was so proud of his grandchildren and how smart and hardworking they were too. He will be remembered for his love and affection for his family and will be missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Diane Schloegl; children, Michele (Mike) Etter, Valerie (Pete) Fleming, Michael (Craig) Schloegl Jr, Martin (Sisca) Schloegl, Reka (John) Wrynn, and Joe (Candy) Schloegl; siblings, Marion and Donna; grandchildren, Michael, Maggie, Natasha, Bill, Morgan, Lauren, Devan, Aurora, Nicole, John Jr, Liam, Alex, Chase, Horizon, Delaney, Kyleigh and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Evy, Ben, Jackson, Aubrey, Atalie, Max, Scarlet and Rosaleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Frannie, Max, Martin, Margaret, Bob and Frieda.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church at 12 noon with Fr. Douglas Hunter presiding. Burial will follow Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch Catholic School (3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, IN 46227) for new computer equipment.
