Monserrate (Monte) Malave born 1951 born in East Chicago, IN, to Monserrate Malave and Ramona Pedraza Malave as the 7th out of 9 children.
Monte touched so many hearts and souls in his time with us. He graduated from Washington High School of East Chicago in 1969. He then enlisted into the U.S. Airforce. He retired from the US Government after over 30 years of dedicated Service.
He made his life in St. Petersburg, FL for 22 years and made his way to Indianapolis, IN., where he retired from the Veteran’s Administration Office and enjoyed the remainder of his days. His retirement gave him several years of interests, including family, traveling, golfing and gardening amongst several other hobbies. His smile and laugh were infectious and will always be remembered. He passed in Fishers, IN on July 18th, 2024.
Preceded in death by his Father Monserrate Malave, Mother, Ramona Pedraza Malave, his brother Abesie Malave, Sister Loyda Alamillo, brother Miguel Malave, Niece Felicia Malave and nephew Brian Banks. He leaves to cherish his memories, brothers, sisters and friends. Daughter Jessica Kneser, Sarah Banks (sister), Nephtali Malave (brother), Elias Malave (Brother), Maria Malave (sister) and Ramona Biddings (Sister). Nieces Evelyn Malave, Estella Banks, Marsella Smith, Deborah Malave Diaz, Alicia Malave Heathington, Marissa Smoljan, Elena Garcia, Mia Berry, Bianca Sosa and Donna Biddings. Nephews Reggie Banks, Michael Malave, Orlando Alamillo, Mark Alamillo, Aaron Berry, Velasco Alamillo, Donald Biddings, Ramiro Alamillo and Austin Malave.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, July 27 from 12 to 2 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a service celebrating his life at 2 p.m. with Rev. Loral Tansy. Inurnment will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Crown Hill National Cemetery, 725 W 42nd St., Indianapolis, with full military honors.
There is a vacant spot in our hearts today for our beloved Monte. May he rest in peace, never to depart from our hearts!
