Pamela Boles Obituary

Pamela Lou Russ Boles, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7, 2021.  She was born on September 14, 1951 in Unionville, Indiana, the youngest of five girls, to the late John E. and Phyllis M. (Mitchell) Russ.  Pamela was the wife of Dennis Boles; they shared 50 years of marriage together.

Pamela graduated from Unionville High School and then went on to attend Indiana Business College.  She worked for the Social Security Administration for the State of Indiana and Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) for seventeen years.  In retirement, she was an Avon sales manager for over fifteen years.

Pamela was a member of St. Simon parish, East 10th St. Church of God and Arlington Heights Baptist Church; her grandfather was a Baptist minister.

She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, plants, gardening, flea markets and getting her nails painted.  She especially loved dogs, she had many of her own dogs throughout her life and loved her grand dogs.  In her younger years she loved riding bikes.  She was a stay-at-home Mom for years and worked hard to send her daughters to private school and then to college.  She cherished spending time with her five grandchildren.  Pamela will be remembered for befriending anyone, her non-judgmental spirit and unbiased nature toward everyone she met.  She was a good friend that would help someone pay their light bill, buy them groceries, or give them a ride anywhere.  When anyone she knew was sick, she would take care of them; she was a caretaker with a kind soul.

Pamela loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, musicals, plays and anything they did.  She could hold any baby and get them to sleep.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Dennis Boles; daughters, Mandy Boles Sullivan (Joseph Jr.) and Elaine Boles Sullivan (John Sr.); grandchildren, J. Michael Sullivan III, Patrick D. Sullivan, Kaitlyn M. Sullivan, John E. Sullivan Jr. and Samuel E. Sullivan.  She was also survived by her sisters, Sandra Russ-Glass, Kay Grizzard (Dan) and Deanna Longwell (Ed).  She loved her nieces and nephews and would do anything for them.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Phyllis Russ; and sister, Branda Russ.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Home, 1458 S. Meridian St., for visitation.  Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Friday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bob Robeson officiating.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
