Pamela Wilson Obituary

Pamela Laurette Wilson, nee Belyea, 74, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022, in her home. At her request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Her family will instead be celebrating her life privately at home. Catholic Mass will be said for Pamela at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on a date soon to be determined.

Pamela was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Helene and Lyle Belyea on October 10, 1948. She spent her childhood in South Bend, IN, surrounded by her large extended Polish family and her devout Catholic faith.  After a time spent working at the South Bend Tribune, Pamela went on to obtain her LPN license through Indiana University South Bend and spent over ten years as a ward floor nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, IN. An avid crafter and creative soul, Pamela devoted herself to her children, raising all four of her grandchildren like her own from birth, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-granddaughter as much as she could. A self-proclaimed “crazy Polack,” Pamela was a generous soul, full of infectious laughter and the hilariously frustrating habit of tasting something horrible, only to then offer it to you in an effort to share the experience.

Pamela is survived by her two children: her son, Joseph Wilson and his wife April Wilson, and her daughter, Constance Wilson of Indianapolis; her six grandchildren: Bridgette Richards, MSc. of Lynn, MA; USAF SSgt. Brittany Wilson and her wife Chezka San Felipe of Belleville, NJ; USAF SSgt. John Jarrett of Lajes, Portugal;  Kristof Richards of Indianapolis; Harper Wilson and Hudson Wilson of Brownsburg, IN, and her great-granddaughter, Callixta San Felipe of Belleville, NJ. She is also survived by her husband, Leonard Wilson, of Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helene Trace Belyea of South Bend, IN, and her father, Lyle Belyea of San Bernardino, CA.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Vincent Hospital for their professionalism and to IFD Station 12 for their quick response.
