Patrick Joseph Meisberger (“Pat”), 76, passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Marie (Bratton) Meisberger. He is survived by Alice (Day), his loving wife of over 53 years, their daughters Becky Carey and Angie Williams, and grandchildren, Josh, Jordyn, Jalen, & Breana, and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Lucas, Jacob and Payton. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Betty Perry and Delores Otto (John), and several nieces and nephews.
Born January 24, 1945, Pat attended St. Catherine Elementary and Sacred Heart Central High School, graduating in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in December 1965. During 12 weeks of rigorous training in San Diego, California, Pat earned commendations for Expert Rifle and Pistol Marksman. He was assigned to the USS Kitty Hawk super aircraft carrier, which patrolled the Vietnam provinces. Pat often talked about his barracks being located just below the flight deck & the “music” he enjoyed from all the planes landing & taking off. His various assignments during his time aboard included “Bomb Pusher" (he talked about the extensive training involved with this job), and Brigg Sentry Guard. He was honorably discharged in December 1967. Pat was always so very proud of his service to his country & continued to support all veterans at home and those far away all his life.
Because Pat always enjoyed working with his hands, when he returned from his service in the Corps, his many talents led him into different roles in construction and remodeling (including total remodeling of his childhood home), plumbing & heating, and finally working as a pipefitter for AMTRAK for over 30 years.
Pat will always be remembered for his quiet strength and love of God and family, and our hearts will miss him forever. His difficult journey has ended, he is at peace, and God has now welcomed him to his new home in Heaven.
