In Loving Memory of Phillip Lawrence Moran, Jr.
Phillip Lawrence Moran, Jr., age 50, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Born on April 9, 1975, in Alexandria, Virginia, Phillip was the beloved son of Phillip Lawrence Moran, Sr. and Carolyn (Carr) Robinson, both of whom survive him.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Phillip served with honor in the Persian Gulf, where he distinguished himself as an accomplished marksman. His dedication to service reflected the strength of his character and his unwavering commitment to protecting others.
On April 1, 2020, Phillip married the love of his life, Jackie Elaine (Spears) Moran. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with laughter, devotion, and shared dreams.
Phillip was a man of many passions. He found peace in fishing, joy in cheering for his favorite football and basketball teams, and comfort in the pages of a good book. Known for his generous spirit and warm heart, Phillip never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His kindness, humility, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Moran; his parents, Phillip (Alpha) Moran, Sr. and Carolyn Robinson; his children, Dominique Dansby, Alena Moran, Ambria Moran, and Phillip “Tre” Moran, III; his brother, Dwayne Carr; his sister, Ninya Bostic; his stepchildren, Tyler Spears, Caleb Holbrook, and Meghan Holbrook; and his grandson, Acen Dansby-Joseph. Phillip’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Crown Hill National Cemetery, 725 W. 42nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.
