Rae Jean (Griffin) Davis

Rae Jean Davis, 92, of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 4, 2023.  She was born on February 24, 1931, in Marion, Indiana, to the late Raymond and Georgia (Thompson) Griffin.  She married the love of her life, Jack E. Davis, Sr., on June 15, 1948; he preceded her in death on February 7, 2005.

Jean was a CNA for Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and Warren United Methodist Home in Warren prior to her retirement.  After her retirement, she was proud to help her grandson, Casey Lloyd, at the Casey Lloyd Funeral Home in Marion.  She was devoted to her family, cooking, canning and always putting up a large garden.  Jean liked to crochet, and she enjoyed playing Bingo.  She was a lovely lady who will be missed by family and friends. 

Survivors include her daughters, Danna K. Lloyd Sale (Gary) and Pam Turner; sons, Jack E. Davis, II (Pat) and Stephen Davis; sister, Freya Sandoval; grandchildren, Tonda Wells (Rick), Casey Lloyd (Michael), Staci Mayo (Mike), Gina Miller (Randy), Jack Davis, III (Kim) and Todd Turner (Sherry); nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren with another on the way.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jack; son-in-law, Virgil Lloyd; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Turner.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, June 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the family home, 4452 N. Wabash Rd., Marion, with a graveside service following in the Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion.  Pastor Brad Wright of the LaFontaine Christian Church will officiate at the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 506 S. Miller Ave., Marion, IN 46953.
