Ricky Wayne Cantrell, Sr., 66, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at his Indianapolis residence surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Willie J. and Ozella Lee Baskerville Cantrell, Ricky was born Thursday, September 13, 1956 in Indianapolis.
Ricky worked in the HVAC industry for 42 years, retiring in 2010 from Bryant Heating & Cooling. He was a gun collector and loved to sit and listen to country music. Ricky enjoyed watching television, especially the old westerns with John Wayne and action movies.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Lois Cantrell of Indianapolis; children, Steven (wife: Sara) Cantrell of Avon, Melissa (husband: John) White-Hatcher of Indianapolis, Michelle Cantrell of Indianapolis and Sarah (husband: Omar) Anguiano-Cantrell of Parker City; brothers, David Cantrell of Indianapolis, Doug Cantrell of Indianapolis and Jerry Cantrell of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Gaven, Dominic, Darrien, Zeke, Abb, Lyric, Harlan, Levi and Megan; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Spradlin of Indianapolis. In addition to his parents Willie and Ozella, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky “Tick” Cantrell; brother, Jimmy Cantrell and sister, Betty Brumley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a service celebrating Ricky’s life at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
