Robert Raymond Baker, Jr., age 80, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. He was born on November 20, 1943, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert Raymond and Florence Marie (Seyfried) Baker, Sr.
Robert was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1961, and went on to serve in the Army National Guard. He retired from Eli Lilly & Co. after 25 years of employment and he enjoyed horse racing in his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Daniel J. (Shelly) Baker, Michael A. (Cindy) Baker and Stacy Marie Laker; siblings, Patrick (Karen) Baker, Ray (Linda) Baker and Barb (Lee, dec.) Pennington; grandchildren, Collin J. (Fiancé, Jenna) Baker, Ashley J. (Tyler) Engelmeyer, Jessie Marie Daniels and Adam Laker; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Daniels. He was preceded in death by his parent and siblings, Donald J. Baker and Mary (Winnie, dec.) Williams.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, September 6 from 11 to 1 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., with a service following at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
