Robert Lewis Kerr, 62 passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 from complications due to cancer. He was born in Medford, Oregon in 1958, graduated from Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, CA in 1976, and enlisted in the Army that same year. He was a proud veteran, having served his country. He was married to his first wife Julie (Hoover) Smithwick for two years. Together they had one child, Kyle Orion Kerr in 1985. He traveled a great deal having lived in California, Oregon, Washington, and Texas, before settling down with his loving wife, Juanita “JJ” Kerr in Indiana. He retired from his job at Easterseals Crossroads in 2018 after receiving his terminal cancer diagnosis. He talked fondly of his work there and missed the daily interactions with the clients and staff. He had a sharp dry sense of humor, could fix just about anything, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Juanita “JJ” (Rogers) Kerr, his son Kyle Kerr (Sarah), two grandchildren Seth and Brooke Kerr, his brother Mark Kerr (Jani), mother Frances (Hodgin) Kerr and his beloved dogs Friday and Pepper. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael Kerr and father Robert Ansom Kerr. A celebration of life is to be held at a later date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be mader to either The Wounded Warrior Project or Simon Cancer Center. Arrangements and care were provided by Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services. Online condolences: www.LauckFuneralHome.com
