Robert B. Hittel
April 2, 1964 – July 13, 2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Robert B. Hittel (Bob) on July 13, 2022 at the age of 58.
Bob graduated from Southport High School in 1982, and went on to become a construction worker and painter. Following the deaths of his mother and daughter, Bob moved to Grand Isle, LA to pursue his dream of becoming a Commercial Shrimper and Fisherman.
Bob's first loves were his grandsons, William and Bradley and his daughter, Christine. He was a very hands-on man, and taught them how to work on the house and cars. He shared his love of fishing and had most recently taken the boys to the Gulf Coast to catch the biggest fish ever.
Bob had a funny, loving spirit and was always up for celebrating. He loved riding his Harley Davidson across the country and saw much of the U.S. riding his bike. He loved having Crawfish Boils and Texas Hold’em parties, celebrating with numerous friends and relatives.
Bob was preceded in death by his only child, Christine, and parents, Michael and Bonnie Hittel.
Survivors include his grandsons, William and Bradley Denney; sister Shelly (Bobby) Johnson; brothers, Frank (Dawn) Hittel and Michael (Andi) Hittel; Uncle Nick (Ruth) Hittel; extended family, Beverly (John) Burns, Johnny (Jackie) Paul and Floyd (Cindy) Paul, nieces, nephews and an enormous amount of friends.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at 3575 East 400 S., Lebanon, IN 46052 on August 6 from 1-4 p.m.
For those who wish to make a donation in Memory of Bob, a trust will be established for his grandsons, William and Bradley Denny. Please contact a family member for more information on the trust.
The family wishes to send a special Thank You to the ICU team at Eskenazi Hospital for their care and compassion.
