Ronald Spears

Ronald K Spears, 74, passed away Tuesday, November 12 at the Roudebush VA Hospital. 

Ron was born on December 9, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN to Selma and William Spears. He was an identical twin with his brother Don. 

Ron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1969 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Clark AFB in the Philippines and was part of the 5th Tactical Unit, serving as an Air Traffic Controller. 

After the war, Ron returned home and worked various jobs throughout this career. He was a supervisor for Mail of Indy and DMS. Most recently he was Maintenance Supervisor at Aria of Zionsville Apartments. 

Ron was a loving and caring person who enjoyed the company of friends and family. He was an avid pool and poker player. He was also a loyal Colts and Pacers fan. He enjoyed traveling to casinos with his brother Don and loved to attend sporting events when he could.

He is survived by his mother Selma Engle; son Justin Spears (Amber); sisters Hilda Johnson (Abe), Tina Laiche, Sheila Taylor (Sam); brothers Don Spears (Nila) and AJ Berry (Pam); girlfriend Danielle Goins; grandchildren Austin Mitchell, Kristina Mitchell-Elisea, Easton Harshbarger and Lucas and Logan Spears; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William and daughter, Angela. 

Ron will be laid to rest at Crown Hill National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 2 pm at Impact Clermont, located at 9204 Crawfordsville Rd in Clermont, IN.
