Rose-Marie Mahoney Obituary

Rose-Marie Julia Mahoney, 55, was born on June 4th, 1968, to Paul John Lauck Sr. and Margaret (Tames) Lauck in Indianapolis.

She attended Martinsville High School and was a member of the swim team.  On October 16th, 1993, she was married to Timothy F. Mahoney, the love of her life, and they were looking forward to celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.

Rose is the proud mother of two children, Nicholas Mahoney of Martinsville and Margaret “Maggie” Kunkel (Morgan Kunkel) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and grandmother to Serena Kunkel.

Rose loved her family with all her heart and was the lynchpin we could all count on.  Rose loved playing games, having parties & going to the casino with her family & friends.  She loved to watch funny movies; listen to music & she loved taking care of babies.  She was the baby-whisperer.  She was a devout Catholic woman & a patriotic American.  She had over 50 plus nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Rose is the youngest of nine children and was instrumental in raising her nieces and nephews over the years.  Rose was a caretaker for all of us, including her mother, her father, her husband, and her grandmother.  Everyone loved Rose.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Mary Sue Parsons, Paul J. Lauck Jr. (Mary Lauck), Kathleen Ritter (Gary Ritter), Ann Murrey (Brian Murrey), Michael Lauck, James Lauck, Margaret “Peggy” Jacobs and Louis Lauck (Glenda Lauck).

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, October 5th from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Service, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis.  A eulogy and rosary service will follow visitation at 7:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial in the Extraordinary Form (Latin) will be celebrated on Friday, October 6th at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 520 Stevens St., Indianapolis, with Rev. Dennis Duvelius presiding.  The burial will follow Mass at 2 p.m. in the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery, 1709 E. Harrison St., Martinsville, IN 46151.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord.  And let perpetual light shine upon her.  May she rest in peace.  Amen.
