Rosemary Marie (Hessman) Miller, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 in Franciscan Health Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1932 in Beech Grove to the late Harry and Martha (Hoheisel) Hessman. Rosemary married the love of her life, Victor H. Miller, on January 14, 1956 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on August 21, 1998.
Rosemary was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and lived her entire life on Union Street. Sacred Heart meant everything to her, she laundered the church linens, was a Heavenly Quilter, helped with mercy meals and went to every event at the church. Rosemary graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1951 and belonged to “The Club” which was a group of ladies from her early days at Sacred Heart Elementary School that met the first Thursday of each month. Above all, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
Survivors include her loving children, Mathew Miller, Victoria Miller, Regina (Kevin) Jeffers, Bernadette M. “Dede” Miller, Angela M. (Robert) Lewis, Sean Miller and Mary (Daniel) Maher; grandchildren, Gina Rose Morrison, Zachary Lewis, Danielle Maher, John Anthony Shambaugh, Danny Maher and Nick Jeffers.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Victor H. Miller; infant son, Anthony Miller; and all eight of her brothers, Albert, Henry, Leo, Charles, Frank, Johnny and Vincent Francis Hessman and Br. Thomas Corcoran, CSC.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., where a rosary service will take place at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 15 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., with one hour a visitation prior to the Mass in the church starting at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
