Sean Christopher Laughlin, 54, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. He was born on January 1, 1969, in Beech Grove, to Ervin Joseph and Donna Lee (Dunford) Laughlin.
Sean graduated from Roncalli High School, class of 1988, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from I.U.P.U.I. He worked for the Marion County Sheriff's Department as a deputy and later as an FTO with IMPD. Sean was a member of FOP #086 and was proud of his 25 years in law enforcement.
Sean loved Notre Dame Football, the beach and Kenny Chesney. He loved his family and was a wonderful son, father and brother. He was proud of his children and always supported them in anything they participated in. He had an enthusiastic sense of humor and could make people laugh. He will be missed by a loving family and the devoted law enforcement community.
Survivors include his parents, Ervin Joseph and Donna Lee Laughlin; children, Megan Laughlin (Ryan Lee), Emma Laughlin and Luke Laughlin; sister, Stacey McDaniel (Mike); nephew and niece, Sean McDaniel and Cassandra McDaniel; and his beloved dog, Roxy.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in Holy Name Catholic Church, 89 N. 17th St., Beech Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 11:30 a.m. in the church with Fr. Bob Sims presiding. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Retired Police Officer’s Association. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
