Shirley Lee (Britt) Hatchett

Shirley Lee Hatchett, 76, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021.  She was born on March 3, 1945, in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Charles and Iona (Bailey) Britt and then married Robert L. Hatchett on  November 14, 1969, who preceded her in death.

Shirley was a homemaker; she had a very great love for and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a horse lover and recently was wanting to still ride. Shirley was proud that she obtained her GED when she was in her 50’s.

Survivors include her children, Phillip L Britt, Aleta Hatchett-Hinkle (Charles) and Roberta Hatchett (Ray); three grandchildren, Samantha Pappas, Rusty Hatchett, and James Hinkle along with five great-grandchildren, Karson Guy, Keyton Guy, Millie Hinkle and Kinsleigh Hinkle and Landon Arthur-Gaskins. 

Family and friends will gather on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021, in the funeral home with the Pastor Billy Silverman officiating.   

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Down Syndrome Indiana or to the Arthritis Foundation.
