Shirley Ann Moore, 68, of Indianapolis passed away at her home on Thursday, February 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 8th, 1950 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Raymond Dowler and Maxine DeLancy.
Shirley will be remembered as a hardworking mother who put her family first. She held a great love of animals and nature. She had an appreciation for art (creating art and collecting art). She was also known for her green thumb.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Heather Staggs (Scott): her two step daughters, Carla Stone and Kimberly Grubbs: her two sisters, Rita Dixon (Denny) and Debbie King (Alonzo): her three grandchildren, Dustin Staggs, Haylie Staggs and Marisah Staggs: two nephews, four nieces, six great nephews and four great nieces. She is also survived by three four-legged family members, Missie, Florie and Willie.
Aside from her loving father, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond E. Dowler Jr. “Buddy”: and her dog Angel.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225) with a calling held after 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
