Tanja Holland Obituary

Tanja Holland, 56, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana, after a long year of unexpected health issues. Even though these health issues took her from this world, she never gave up and faced every day with the utmost bravery, with unwavering love for her family throughout the entire journey.

Tanja is survived by her mother, Irene Thomas (86), as well as her two sons, Dakota Holland (26) and Braxton Brown (18). She is preceded in death by her father, Guenter Thomas, as well as her brother, Guenter Thomas.

Tanja was born in Martinsville, Indiana on December 4, 1964. She graduated from North Central High School in 1983, showing an interest in pursuing work within the hospitality industry. She went on to work various jobs both inside and outside of the hospitality industry. When her youngest son, Braxton, was born, Tanja departed a data entry job to take care of her son full-time due to Braxton’s diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Tanja spent a large portion of her life living in Noblesville, Indiana, which was her home at time of passing.

Anyone who truly knew Tanja knows that she was an unapologetically outspoken person, never afraid to be her true self without worrying what others would think. She enjoyed going to rock music concerts and simply spending time with friends and family. Tanja’s pride for her sons shined through for everyone to see, and she was not hesitant to let anyone know how much she loved both of them. She was a known and strong advocate for Autism acceptance and awareness. Tanja was a great friend, a great mother, and an all-around great person. She will be sorely missed by many, and countless memories of her will live on far beyond her passing.
