Theresa Grimmitt, In her much too short life of 58 years Theresa would best be described as an overcomer.
Born in Bedford Indiana, Feb 7th, 1966, Elmer & Anna Mae adopted her and her twin sister Lisa.
Theresa was born with cerebral palsy and was not expected to live past her teen years, she did.
Her expectancy to walk without braces was slim, at 7 years old, she did.
Motherhood, they told her she wouldn’t be able to carry a child to term, she did.
Katelyn was the accomplishment that filled her soul & made her most proud.
Theresa loved being a Mom and was a Mom figure to many.
When Theresa became ill her dedicated and loving daughter uprooted her life in Michigan and
moved to Indy to help care for her Mom. Katelyn’s heart and kindness resemble her Mama for certain.
Theresa and her husband Dale shared the same birthday, just a few years apart.:)
They met 31 years ago when they were neighbors at Country Club apartments.
Their marriage of 26 years was filled with love, family, friends, music, laughter, a cold beer or two
and often a good ol’ham and Colby. IYKYK.
Theresa loved her stepson Eric like her own. She and Eric loved to share favorite recent music artists,
what they were streaming on TV and silly nicknames for family members.
Theresa’s friends described her as loyal, dependable, honest and always there for them no matter what
and always without judgement.
Theresa worked for around 25 years at CTP, she was a line worker who worked on her feet,
again overcoming an obstacle.
She made many great friends at work with whom she never lost contact.
She had the kindest heart and was never afraid to stand up for what she felt was right
or debate her views on the state of the world. She will be missed greatly and thought of often.
