Theresa Marie Munsch

Theresa Marie Munsch, 89, passed away on May 5, 2025.

She was born on March 30, 1936, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Clarence and Margaret Schott.

A life-long Southsider, she attended St. Patrick Grade School followed by high school at St. John's. She graduated in 1954, taking both her diploma and a group of lifelong friends, Patti Chamberlin, Beverly Green, and Gertie Andrews, who passed in 2021 and, since God forgives mischievous schoolgirls, was one of the first to meet her in heaven.

Theresa worked for several employers both in Indiana and California before hiring on at Kroger in Indianapolis where she met her husband of 57 years, Edmund. Together, they kept each other sane despite the best efforts of their children until his death in 2019. She loved children (her own and all others), animals (ditto), and her family and friends.

She is survived by her wonderful children, Edmund Jr. (Linda), Eric, Anne, and Kathleen, grandchildren Taylor Munsch (Chris Meek, who she would never have put in parentheses) and Stephen Munsch. She is also survived by her devoted dog Augustus and cats Olaf and Rocky. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Lee, and brothers Jim (Ginny) Schott and Bill (Carolyn) Schott, and enough nieces and nephews and cousins to fill a book.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmund Munsch Sr., a stillborn daughter she named Kathleen Marie, her brother Joseph Schott, sister-in-law Carole Schott, and nephew Tony Schott.

 She was also greeted by all the animals she has loved and cared for through the years, from her beloved childhood dog King, the dozens of dogs cats she made a loving home for, to Rex, who will be overjoyed to have his comfy lap back 

Funeral Mass will be held Noon Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 950 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46203. A visitation will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9am to 11:30am at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46225 with Mass immediately following.  

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Cat’s Haven, the Humane Society, your local Pitbull rescue, St. Vincent de Paul, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
