Thomas B. O’Farrell, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1955, in Beech Grove, to the late Robert J. and Julia A. (Jennings) O’Farrell.
Tom was a graduate of Harry E. Wood High School, class of 1974. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor and was always agreeable and polite. One of Tom’s greatest passions was horticulture, he was obsessed with killing weeds. Tom was known for not keeping secrets and in saying, “It’s the least I could do.” His greatest joy was his granddaughter, Mary; he was so proud of her.
Survivors include his siblings, Kathleen “Kathy” (Terry) Cook, Brian (Libbey) O’Farrell, Mary O’Farrell, Pat (Jonna) O’Farrell and Brigid Taylor; sister-in-law, T.J. O’Farrell; granddaughter, Mary E. Horn; and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin O’Farrell.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, January 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Duc Pham, O.F.M., presiding. Inurnment will take place on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
