Timothy Dewees Obituary

Timothy “Tim” William Dewees, 26, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his Muncie residence. The son of Chanel Marie Reynolds and Thomas Jason Dewees, Tim was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1996 in Muncie.

Tim was a graduate of Southside High School, Class of 2015 and was the only recipient of the U.S. Army JROTC award. After graduation, he lived in Indianapolis for several years and worked as a package material handler with FedEx at the Indianapolis International Airport. Besides being a package handler, he was also being trained to do plane de-icing. He moved back to Muncie and was working as a tow motor operator for Magna-Tech Manufacturing for about a year.

Tim liked to spend his free time playing different types of game boards, which led him into acquiring many versions of the Monopoly game. He also enjoyed Pokemon and Pokemon Go, Playstation Destiny, X-Box, watching the Japanese cartoon series “Bleach” and going to Dave and Buster’s – at both Castleton Square and Greenwood Park Malls.

Tim is survived by his mother, Chanel M. Reynolds (Ryan T. Holtzclaw) of Indianapolis; his father, Thomas Jason (Crystal) Dewees of Muncie; brothers and sister, Jacob T. Reynolds of Eaton, Thomas Jason Dewees, Jr., Dalton Jay Dewees, Arlene May Dewees and William Ray Dewees, all of Muncie; grandparents, Elizabeth S. Smith of Missouri and Penny K. and Rick L. Moyer of New Castle and William R. Dewees; great-grandparents, Sondra J. Reynolds-Moore and James Moore of Frankton; an aunt, Heather Adams of Ohio; an uncle, Adrian Chesher of Anderson. Tim was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia J. Dewees.

Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Gholar and Gholar Funeral Home – 900 East Kirby Avenue, Muncie where funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m.  Entombment will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie.
