Virginia "Jenny" Ann (Reed) Walter

Virginia “Jenny” Ann Walter, age 71, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 14, 1953, in Indianapolis, to the late Roscoe and Beaulah (Harris) Reed. 

Jenny married the love of her life, Ronald Louis Walter, on February 7, 1981, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School and went on to work for General Motors for many years as an inspector prior to retirement.  Jenny and Ron were members of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Eagles Club.  She was quick-witted and an avid reader.  Jenny will be remembered most as a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother “Nanny.” 

Survivors include her husband, Ron Walter; daughter, Joni (Harry) Hull; siblings, Susan (Dale) Thomas, William (Susan) Reed, Steven (Clint Shepard) Reed and Michael (Frances) Reed; grandson, Shane Hull; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 12 noon with Fr. Douglas Hunter presiding.  Burial will be in St. Joseph/Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Autism Society of Indiana or the F.O.P. #86 Shop With a Cop program.  Envelopes will be provided at the church.
