Walter Elmer Patrick, III
Walter, or Wally to his friends and loved ones, was born on January 20, 1973, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Walter Elmer Patrick, Jr. and Kathleen Louise Patrick (Kuhn). The eldest of three siblings, Wally attended Roncalli High School, and after graduating in 1991, he continued his education and graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Wally’s career accomplishments in many areas of construction were numerous, but were always outshined by his true passions, his children and coaching. Wally spent many years instilling the fundamentals and life lessons of sports to young softball and baseball players as he coached his own children and many other aspiring young athletes, which brought him immense joy.
With his corny dad jokes and rather unique dance moves, those of us blessed enough to know and love Wally will remember him for his ability to always make us laugh. His love for his children, and his nieces and nephews, was always present in a silly question or story, or one of his signature winks. We will also remember a fiercely loyal friend who was always willing to lend a hand and was the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back, as long as you didn’t mind the missing sleeves.
Wally was preceded in death by his father, Walter, and his mother, Kathleen. He is survived by his wife, Erin, his four children, Allison, Walter (Drew), Lauren, and Emma, his brother, Daniel (Keri), his sister, Tracy (Jim) Wailes, and his large extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Roch Catholic School in Indianapolis, where Wally was a parish member, are requested.
Visitation for Wally will be on Sunday, July 14th, from 2 – 6 PM at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services at 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN, followed by funeral services on Monday, July 15th at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St., Indianapolis, IN.
