Wendy S. (Lewis) Hunt

Wendy S. Hunt, 59, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 12, 1964, in Indianapolis, to Charles Lewis and Carolyn (Ellis) Gray.  Wendy married the love of her life, Darrell E. Hunt, on August 29, 2009; he survives. 

Wendy graduated from Indianapolis Baptist High School, class of 1983.  She drove a bus for many years for Miller Transportation and she loved the children on her bus, often stopping the bus to sing “Happy Birthday” or pass out special treats.  She enjoyed gardening, reading and her beloved dogs, Winston & Barkley.  Wendy had a strong love for Jesus and her faith was important to her.  She was a people person, loved to have a good time and made new friends everywhere she went. 

Survivors include her loving husband, Darrell E. Hunt; daughter, Miriam Karwath of New South Wales, Australia; parents, Charles (Inez) Lewis and Carolyn Gray; sister, Elizabeth (Kevin) Brown; step-children, Justin Hunt, Jeremiah Hunt, Samantha Raheem and Kayla Hunt; nieces and nephews, Samuel, Caden, Isabella and Evelyn Brown; and several step-grandchildren.  Wendy was preceded in death by her son, Graham Karwath. 

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Lauck & Veldhof Funeral Services, 1458 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis.  Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Fred Sigle of Garfield Christian Church officiating.  Burial:  Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.

Memorial contributions have been suggested to Garfield Christian Church.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
