William Charles Eldridge, 87, of Whiteland died on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home. He was born on December 15, 1931 in Columbus, IN to the late Ted and Pearl Eldridge.
After graduating high school William enlisted in the United States Navy. After returning home from his tour of duty he made a living for himself by working as a meat cutter for IGA. William enjoyed mushroom hunting and was a fan of all sports, except golf. He will be affectionately remembered as “the one drinking a beer and playing his guitar”. He will be missed by many who knew him.
He is survived by four sons, Kevin Eldridge of Franklin, Philip Eldridge of Franklin, Curtis Miller (Andrea Owens) of Whiteland and John Eldridge of Whiteland; three daughters, Tara Richardson of Franklin, Nancy Inman (Ryan) of Whiteland and Debbie Myers of Franklin; as well as 32 grandchildren.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, extended family and close friends. Aside from his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eldridge.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in the Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services (1458 S. Meridian Street). Burial: East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown, IN.
